Job Description

UCB Pharma is partnering with Ashfield to Recruit an Account Director working within their Neurology portfolio. The Account Director will meaningfully engage with a broad range of senior level decision makers and influencers at locality level and will lead the business planning process for the whole area, identifying how UCB goals and customer goals can align, then subsequently draw upon internal resources to implement plans, with the ultimate objective and responsibility of delivering the sales plan for their region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed sales contribution
  • Ensure local business plans are aligned to national strategy for promoted and future brands, with clear and measured KPIs 
  • Engage in pre-launch planning and deliver advance budget notification for products during the pre-licence period in strict accordance with company / industry / PMCPA policies and procedures 
  • Responsible for managing local budgets and ensuring investments in joint working activities that will meet the local agenda and achieve mutual goals. This should make use of innovative tools and solutions developed nationally and locally, and look to drive real change in patient care / value. Ensure that all activities are in line with agreed plans and that planned deviation is communicated, recorded and validated in advance 
  • Engage, influence and work with senior local healthcare policy decision makers (Both strategic and delivery level) with both commissioning and providers to support service transformation and improve patient outcomes aligned with UCB value creation
  • Partner with accounts to develop positive formulary and guidelines within the region and ensure the drive through of implementation at a local level
  • Identify key trends in the NHS environment and proactively identify business/partnership/joint working

Essential Skills

The Account Director will be a highly skilled and experienced individual, able to be comfortable with a commercial remit, but also with ability to converse fluently with key stakeholders within the NHS. We are keen to explore candidatyes who currently work within the NHS at Key Decision Maker Status: Payer / Medicines Management / Medicines Optomisation etc.

  • Exceptional business planning and account management skills
  • High level leadership skills
  • High level of influencing and negotiation skills
  • Sound understanding of UK pharmaceutical industry and demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of NHS policies, structures, funding streams and processes relevant to promoted products
  • Demonstrates well developed business and commercial acumen
  • Proactive and accountable with a clear drive for completion and delivery
