Job Description

Pharmexx are currently recruiting a Hospital Key Account Manager to work Direct to Headcount and cover the East Midlands and East Anglia territory. Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Europe Ltd is the European Headquarters of one of Japan’s largest pharmaceutical companies, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma

Corporation. The role will involve selling a specialist product into Specialist Key Accounts within Hospitals and most importantly the purpose of this role is to rapidly and effectively grow the business to uncover existing product opportunities, drive usage and accelerate current sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide critical feedback towards the commercial strategy and tactics.  Feedback to include successes, barriers, market opportunities, issues and highlight key stakeholders.
  • To achieve and exceed key sales objectives as discussed and agreed with line manager.
  • Establish awareness and use of the product in target accounts. This should include formulary listing, stocking of the product and use in targeted departments.
  • Develop Account Business plans that are cognizant of the strategy for the brand and that drive successful achievement of the territory key deliverables.                 
  • Establish strong business relationships with all key customer groups to maximise sales growth.  
  • Identify key customers across secondary care to be developed as strong advocates for the product.
  • Identify what the local health economy guidance is and establish local activity with key stakeholders to neutralise barriers or maximise support towards product inclusion. 
  • Target key secondary care centres and priority units in order to gain rapid uptake of Argatroban and formulary inclusion.

Essential Skills

  • ABPI (UK) / MRII (Ireland) qualification (understanding and adherence).
  • Sound knowledge of commercial environment.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Successful experience as a Hospital Specialist Representative or Secondary Care KAM role 
  • Evidence of delivering results in a multi stakeholder model and using Key Account Management techniques to effect changes in policy and practice
  • History of top sales performance 
  • Essentially experienced in Critical Care, Haematology, and ITU CCU
  • Successful experience /understanding of NHS structure for prescribing, reimbursement, funding, formulary processes and NHS policies as they affect Secondary Care
  • Experience of Key Opinion Leader development
