Job Description

Ashfield Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Key Account Manager to cover the Scotland area. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global pharmaceutical company and work across competitive and exciting therapy areas.

Essential Skills

  • Delivery of key messages to a target customer group in secondary care to help support the brand.
  • Delivery of head to head data to ensure medicines in the therapy area are prescribed in appropriate patients.
  • Demonstrate a geographical flexibility in accordance with local business needs.
    • Working in partnership with your team to deliver local and national sales targets agreed with the client.
  • Tailor activity according to the local Account Plans, which may mean different activity with different customers.
  • Take personal accountability for therapy area understanding, including the disease, competitors and campaign, as well as the local health economy environment in order to add value to customers & client.
  • Report to a National manager, who will sit as a player / manager within the team.
  • Ensure all administration from key account plans to monthly expenses is completed to the required standard and within agreed deadlines.
  • Adhere to all regulations contained in the ABPI Code of Practice and fully comply with company policies and procedures.


  • Develop mutually beneficial long term partnerships with our customers based on high quality account plans
  • Implement bespoke customer solutions utilising all available resources including value add services, Consultants and Business Consultants
  • Contribute to the success of your team by sharing best practice with colleagues and proactively contributing ideas

Call activity

  • Deliver call activity in accordance with agreed KPIs to achieve the required coverage and frequency with identified target customers
  • Ensure clear and specific objectives exist for each individual call
  • Deliver relevant marketing messages and programmes consistent with management direction in line with Solution Selling model
  • Proactively identify customer opportunities and capitalize on them
  • Co-ordinate with colleagues in order to achieve positive changes to the customers understanding and use of our portfolio of products, services and pricing


  • Analyse and interpret territory and customer potential, sales and growth opportunities
  • Deliver agreed sales targets, growth and market share gains for specified product lines
  • Manage allocated customer support budget with tight control to avoid overspends


  • Communicate marketing messages and implement programmes with the appropriate quantity and quality of activity in line with the solution selling model
  • Maintain high standards of business conduct and compliance, adhering particularly to Pharmacovigilance Policy, ABPI, Ashfield values, travel & expenses policy and local codes of practise
  • Maintain accurate business records and communicate effectively with the Area Business Manager and other stakeholders
