Job Description

Provision of high quality Medical Information services to patients, healthcare professionals, the pharmacy distribution trade and other customer groups about client pharmaceutical products, devices and related disease areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide Medical Information support for all client products in the UK and other markets as agreed from time to time.
  • Identification, handling and reporting of all adverse events and product technical complaints in accordance with Client and Ashfield Group SOPs as appropriate.
  • Recording of all enquiries and responses in the Ashfield systems and/or the Client systems in accordance with SOPs, work instruction and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist the Medical Information Manager and other team members in the generation of answers to client questions as and when required.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of Medical Information solutions and library resources using specialist databases.
  • Keep abreast of allocated client therapeutic areas to assist in information delivery.
  • Required to participate in an out of hour’s service to ensure emergency cover to deal with medical enquiries outside of office hours inclusive of weekends and bank holidays.
  • Research and prepare responses for medical information enquiries received via phone, email, web or mail.
  • Processing of product technical complaint reports, samples, and preparation of investigation reports.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including telephone manner
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills. Excellent team player and the ability to work alone as and when required. Enjoy working proactively with the ability to work towards deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills including customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow process diligently.
  • Life Science Degree, Batchelor’s essential, Masters preferred.
  • Knowledge of certain disease areas in particular diabetes and cardiovascular disease would be helpful but are not essential
  • Experience in Medical Information is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a Call Centre or Customer service environment would be helpful but is not essential.
