Job Description

Ashfield Healthcare are proud to be working with Novartis to recruit a Service Implementation Manager to provide support to ophthalmology units through service reviews within hospitals in the North of the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with NHS Ophthalmology units that have completed a service evaluation with the client Patient Access Managers (PAMs) to implement identified areas that will assist in the provision of efficient treatment pathways.
  • Identify actions and solutions with NHS staff to deliver treat and extend pathways.
  • Support the development of Standards of Care in line with National and Local guidance.
  • Work in close cooperation with relevant client personnel to define and maintain appropriately detailed, high-level procedures of the performance of the Service Implementation Manager role.

Essential Skills

  • Registered Nurse practitioner or HCP with extensive ophthalmology experience
  • Understanding of the treatment pathways within this field
  • Knowledge of the NHS working in ophthalmology
  • High level of desire  to make a difference to patient care
  • Proven experience of delivery of innovative care pathways 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent empathy, emotional intelligence and an orientation to deliver  change
  • A self-starter with high personal motivation
  • Excellent communication skills, effective verbal, written and listening skills
  • Proficiency in computer operating systems, Microsoft office suite required
  • Must have a current UK driving license preferably clean but no more than 6 endorsement points
  • Satisfactory enhanced CRB Disclosure or equivalent (Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland)
  • Satisfactory pre-employment medical checks

Clear understanding of the need to deliver an excellent experience to the health care professional and referring centre. Ability to consider and review opportunities to expand healthcare professional’s awareness of the resources and services the client can offer by focusing on need and partnership opportunity.

Ability to demonstrate the standards of behaviour and professionalism that distinguish Ashfield Healthcare Limited to the outside world. Ensure effective and appropriate communication is maintained to all health care professionals and client employees and peers.

The jobholder is field based and must be willing to travel to referring centres with occasional overnight stay and attend Client meetings
