Job Description

Ashfield Healthcare are delighted to be working with a leading OTC branded business to recruit a National Training Manager. This is an exciting headcount role which will see the successful applicant working across all levels of the business to help deliver the company’s commercial goals through innovative training programmes. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and present an annual training plan to ensure high competency levels across all regions and to help deliver the company’s commercial goals
  • Work with sales management and marketing to implement training and development programmes to help drive efficiency and effectiveness within the team
  • Plan and implement comprehensive Initial Training Courses for new sales personnel and for those moving into new job roles
  • To work with the Marketers, RBMs and the Head of NHS Sales to define the training requirements for the sales team and subsequently develop, source and deliver relevant high calibre training programmes
  • To assist marketing in the development of product training materials
  • Conduct field visits with all members of the team but with a particular focus on supporting the transition of new starters from their initial training into the field
  • Support training requirements at sales meetings
  • To hold regular reviews and ensure monitoring processes are in place to confirm the effectiveness of the training in achieving the initial goals
  • To possess a thorough understanding of the provisions of the APBI Code of Practice and internal SOPs
  • To possess an up to date knowledge of the NHS structures and policy objectives
  • Coordinate plans and maintain a record of the completion of the ABPI code of practice exam for all new starters
  • Ensure that agreed training plans and programmes are delivered within the approved training department budget

Essential Skills

  • Degree in scientific or business related subject or equivalent qualification
  • ABPI qualified
  • A minimum of 3 years+ successful, proven track record of pharmaceutical industry management experience   
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to provide performance feedback, strong written and numerical skills, good presentation skills, and an effective evaluator of performance
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proven team player
  • High level of influencing and negotiation skills
  • High level of IT skills
  • Sound understanding of NHS policies, structures, funding streams and processes relevant to promoted products
