Job Description

Ashfield is currently recruiting for an Account Support Manager on behalf of Pfizer. A large part of the PEH UK secondary care business is through NHS awarded contracts. This role will be to drive the performance of the Pfizer NHS contracts at specified accounts [NHS Hospital Trusts and Boards – devolved nations] and drive revenues for the commercial portfolio.

This role is an office based account management role and will support the field based Hospital Commercial Development Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive commercial portfolio growth to achieve SVT in nominated accounts
  • Responsible for developing and managing a non-core and core commercial account plan
  • Support effective contract optimisation with a focus on essential brands
  • Work with the field based HCDMs  to build and maintain a list of key contacts in accounts
  • Excellence in using the “contract optimisation tool” – close working with the GEP office based Tenders & Contract Team
  • Provide monthly reports on key KPI’s on delivery, contract performance
  • Routinely call accounts to support pre and post contract award information  and  to drive the performance of the Pfizer awarded NHS contracts
  • Feedback to appropriate channels insights gained – i.e. an over performance of a contract and potential supply concerns or reasons for an underperforming contract
  • As the account manager deal with broader account queries such as [but not limited to] pricing, contract and supply queries
  • Signposting of appropriate queries to HCDM’s and TaCT team
  • At start of contract awards ensure all hospitals are set-up with their systems to immediately start purchasing of the Pfizer product
  • A leader in the in use of the CRM tool – Pforce – for recording customer interactions
  • Drive up take of e-permissions through Access Pfizer and enhance our value within this commercial customer segment
  • Be an integral part of the hospital commercial team
  • Support corporate sponsorship opportunities with commercial customers including compliance and contracts – e.g. AHTP
  • Help manage out of stock situations with commercial customers and support off contract claims under the authorisation of HCDM
  • Support the Tenders and Contract Team with intelligence to shape future Pfizer tender responses

Essential Skills

  • Degree level education preferable or equivalent
  • Experience in account management or sales
  • Understanding the pharmaceutical supply chain
  • Ability to plan strategically and logically
  • Creative thinking - able to demonstrate the ability to come up with new and innovative ways of looking at existing approaches for sales
  • Feedback to appropriate channels insights gained
  • Candidate will need to be confident with analytics and use of Microsoft XL
  • An excellent communicator, confident in speaking with customers over the telephone and remotely building rapport.
  • Effective team working across numerous teams such as the Multi-Channel Communications Team, Tenders & Contracts Team, Customer Experience Team and customer facing teams.
  • Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence decision makers.
