Job Description

Ashfield Healthcare are recruiting a Psychologist to support our Diabetes Nurse Advisors on our Sanofi Toujeo Team. Building upon its century long history in this field, Sanofi is committed to improving global diabetes management through its integrated offering of treatments and medical devices.

The jobholder can live anywhere in the UK and work remotely but has to be prepared to travel to our Head Office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide an education & support programme to patients with Diabetes (type2) on behalf of the client and the associated healthcare professionals in the UK
  • To communicate and liaise effectively with Diabetes Nurse Specialists, service providers and agencies concerned with the care of people with diabetes
  • To provide health education relevant to the needs of each individual patient and to work to empower each patient by supporting them with better knowledge of disease processes, increased confidence and self-care/ management skills
  • To provide a Contact Centre solution that will support and assist the patient and the healthcare professional in delivering a seamless service
  • Liaison with designated healthcare professionals and support agencies where necessary to ensure the safety of the patient
  • Identification, handling and reporting of all adverse events and product technical complaints in accordance with Ashfield Healthcare Limited and Sanofi SOPs as appropriate
  • Recording of all enquiries and responses in the Ashfield Contact Centre systems and/or the Client systems in accordance with SOPs, work instruction and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist the Project Manager and other team members in the generation of answers to patient and healthcare professionals questions as and when required
  • Keep abreast of allocated client therapeutic area to assist in information delivery
  • To fully document all patient interactions in accordance with Company and service policies and procedures which include the call reporting record system for patients
  • Maintain all equipment and materials that are provided as part of the service in accordance with Ashfield Healthcare SOPs as appropriate
  • Undertake other tasks and assignments which may be required by the Project Manager, Team Leader or Company as discussed and agreed.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant disease areas
  • Coaching skills (certification desirable)
  • Experience of providing telephone support to patients
  • Experience working in the field of Diabetes Care
  • Knowledge of the Diabetes NSF, NICE recommendations and evidence based practice
  • Training, teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent
