Job Description

Ashfield Healthcare is currently recruiting for a team of Nurse Advisors to cover Scotland. As part of the team you will deliver a vital service, educating patients and parents/carers in self-administration of an Immunotherapy drug.

Key Responsibilities

  • In selected locations and for selected patients as agreed with the client:
  • To train patients and parents/carers in the use of a self-administration prescribed subcutaneous therapy for the treatment within Immunology.
  • Provide healthcare professionals education and training in the use of sub cutaneous device for the administration of subcutaneous therapy for the treatment of Immunology
  • To manage and report any adverse events and refer as appropriate.
  • To provide patient education to all patients and their parent/s/carer/s referred to the service.
  • To complete all compliance documentation for each healthcare organisation adopting the service.
  • To communicate with and develop relationships with key nursing and medical staff at all allocated healthcare organisations adopting the service.
  • Undertake risk assessments prior to and during out of hospital as required by Company policies.
  • Comply with the Adverse Event policies of Ashfield and the client company in respect of all matters relating to Pharmacovigilance, including training requirements and reporting systems.
  • Comply with the relevant regulatory guidelines including the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code and the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Essential Skills

 Professional Status and experience:

Current NMC registration.

Experience of working with children desirable

Other:

RCN member (or equivalent). 

Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or equivalent (Scotland and Northern Ireland).

Satisfactory pre-employment medical checks. 

Business Understanding:

Demonstrates an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and business.

Demonstrates an understanding of the home healthcare industry.

Client Focus:

Clear understanding of the need to deliver an excellent experience to the patient, carer, HCP or parent and referring centre.  Ability to consider and review opportunities to expand healthcare professional’s awareness of the resources and services the client can offer by focusing on need and partnership opportunity.
