Job Description

Ashfield Healthcare are proud to be recruiting a  manager for a team of Flex Nurse Advisors participating in the delivery of evidence based clinical service delivery and education programmes. To observe, assess and report on clinical skills

Key Responsibilities

  • To be proactive and able to work under own initiative
  • Ensure the Nurse Advisor team adheres to key responsibilities and understands the overall objectives of the Nurse Programme
  • Undertake regular appraisals and reviews with the Nurse Advisors to identify areas for development and the training needs
  • To organize and develop initial training courses and liaise with Nurse Account Manager to create clinical skills training course for new and current nurse advisors
  • Complete all necessary administration in a timely and accurate manner as required, particularly in relation to activity reporting, information feedback and expenses
  • Be a role model to ensure adherence to Ashfield  policies and procedures
  • Develop a strong relationship with the client by effectively utilising communication skills
  • Maintain all company equipment and materials in accordance with company instructions
  • Act as link between nurse advisor team, the wider management team and head office thus ensuring effective liaison between all departments.
  • Comply with the Adverse Drug Event policies of Ashfield  and the client in respect of all matters relating to pharmacovigilance including training requirements and reporting systems
  • To participate in the recruitment process of Nurse Advisors
  • Co-ordinate client, team and peer meetings
  • Keep abreast of all developments in clinical issues relating to the disease area, National Health Service changing structures, decision-making processes and developments in disease treatment in order to act as resource to the nurse advisor team
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code and Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice to ensure that all clinical support activities, advice and information given comply with them with adherence to other regulatory requirements as appropriate
  • Attend meetings and conferences as required in order to keep up to date of plans, activities and developments and to exchange knowledge and experience within the team

Essential Skills

  • Current NMC registration
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with evidence of up to date clinical experience in the care of people with MS
  • Excellent people skills
  • RCN member (or equivalent). 
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS Disclosure or equivalent (Scotland and Northern Ireland).
  • Satisfactory pre-employment medical checks. 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in working within relevant disease areas in secondary care

Business Understanding:

Demonstrates a sound understanding of the business and associated industry and applies this knowledge in making commercial judgements to improve Ashfield effectiveness. Fully understands the importance of full compliance with medical, legal and regulatory code requirements in relation to Ashfield nurse teams.

Ability to consider and review opportunities to expand healthcare professional’s awareness of the resources and services the client can offer by focussing on need and partnership opportunity. Ability to think strategically in order to predict and anticipate future clients’ needs.
