Job Description

Ashfield are delighted to be recruiting a headcount role on behalf of one of our clients for an Oncology Hospital Specialist.  This opportunity is with a global pharmaceutical company and is an offers the successful candidate the chance to make a real difference to patients’ lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • To successfully and effectively sell to key clinicians and stakeholders within the patient pathway to ensure our commercial success within the territory
  • Understand and map the local and regional funding, clinical and access decision processes and identify all key stakeholders;
  • Develop and manage relationships with key customers within priority accounts
  • To effectively and efficiently manage  time to ensure  key territory and brand objectives
  • Account planning and prioritisation 
  • Be able to demonstrate an excellent level of product knowledge and knowledge of your therapeutic area 
  • Promote the rational prescribing and use of a range of oncology products in compliance with the relevant local code and legislation governing the advertising of medicinal products.
  • Identify barriers and opportunities for the relevant and specific disease area through deep customer insight and local knowledge, and to use this information to develop and implement both long- and short-term business plans for all identified key customers and accounts

Essential Skills

  • Be able to demonstrate an excellent level of product knowledge and knowledge of the current therapeutic area
    • Successful experience within key account management and NHS sales across varying levels;
    • Experience of developing and implementing tactical customer plans including implementation across hospital accounts and into primary care networks;
    • Evidence of Pathway mapping for targeted accounts across primary and secondary care;
    • Experience of service redesign implementation and driving business pull through;
    • Experience of achieving results as part of a cross-functional team;
    • Proven success within the pharmaceutical industry, including GP sales, hospital sales, and access experience;
    • In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and relevant therapeutic areas, including an understanding of health economics and cost-effectiveness data.
